I have been coming here for years. Their ingredients have always been fresh, and the food is fantastic. The waitstaff does a good job, and the interior is a simple but dated style. That said, it is a comfortable restaurant. I believe they have the best egg drop soup I have had anywhere. It is fantastic. I also love the way they prepare their beef dishes and egg rolls. The beef broccoli and Mongolian beef are standouts. I already want to go back as I type this review!
My wife and I were looking for a Chinese Restaurant that we could sit down and order from a menu. Shang-Hai came to mind so in we went. We were greeted by the hostess and seated right away. Our waitress was Mai (sp). We ordered a half carafe of a chardonnay which was a Robert Mondavi Brand. My wife decided to try something new and ordered the mongolian beef and I ordered a orange chicken and beef broccoli combo. Our dinners came with a fried rice, soup and egg roll. We also ordered crab rangoon. We were pleasantly surprised with the portions of our dishes. The crab rangoon was fried perfectly. The ambience was what you would expect in that concept. We left there telling each other we will be back!
I have been coming here for years. Whenever I would travel I would try to make to back as soon as possible to get more of this delicious food. I have eaten here eight times in a 7 day week and they are closed on Mondays. Yes. That means I went for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend. And I refused to take my then boyfriend now husband here at first because I didn't want to stain my favorite place with a negative emotion in case we broke up.
